Bowes Creek and The Highlands PGA Jr. League
The program is 5 weeks long and will be held during the months of June and July at The Highlands. We anticipate having 1 team but that will be determined after registration closes. Golf Staff will then select teams based upon previous year's participation if applicable. The league includes PGA Instruction, a weekly practice, 5 competitive matches with range balls, on-course practice and spectator golf carts for home matches.
PGA Jr Match Rules
- - The PGA Jr. League (PGA JLG) uses a two-person scramble format for team games. Each team is made up of two-person pairs, or three if a substitute is included.
- - Both players in a pair hit drives, and the best shot is selected by the player. Each player then plays from that spot until the ball is holed.
- - Ball position can be moved up to one club length in the same turf conditions but cannot be moved closer to the hole.
- - If team gets a double bogie, the players pick up their balls and a double bogie is recorded on the scorecard.
- - A natural double bogie beats a bogie pickup.
- - Players get 2 shots out of sand traps. If the ball is in the sand after 2 shots, the ball is picked up and placed outside the sand trap not closer to the hole.
PGA Jr Scoring Rules
- - PGA Jr. League utilizes match play scoring, focusing on performance vs. a score-to-par as is traditional with golf.
- - Each match is broken into three flags, each consisting of three holes in a row.
- - Each team has the opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag.
- - Matches consist of 9 holes, or 3 flags, and 1 point is awarded per flag.
- - If a flag is tied, a half point is awarded to each team.
-
The fee for the Fall League is $355.00
