The Peninsula Championships at Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort
FORMAT & DIVISIONS
The Peninsula Championships is a 36-hole individual stroke play event for all competitors. Competitiors must determine which division they want to compete within prior to the start of the competition. The criteria for each division are as follows:
Open Amateur Championship (Gross Only): Open to all golfers without age restriction
Senior Amateur Championship (Gross Only): Open to all golfers at least 50 years of age
Open Net Amateur Championship (Net Only): Open to all golfers without age restriction
*Adult ladies will be play approximately 85% of the distances listed above, within the gross portion of the championships only. Ladies must compete from the Red Tees in the Net Amateur Championship.
*VSGA Points Event – Points will be awarded to regular amateurs and senior amateurs.
The USGA Rules of Golf will govern all play for the duration of the event; except where Local Rules prevail which will be indicated on the Notice to Competitors.
DIVISION TEES & DISTANCES
Open Amateur Championship (Gross Only): All competitors will play from the Black Tees (6800-7000 yards)
Senior Amateur Championship (Gross Only): All competitors will play from the Grey Tees (6000-6300 yards)
*Ladies will play from approximately 85% of the mens total distances as listed above.
Open Net Amateur Championship (Net Only): Competitors will play from various tees and recieve 85% of their handicap from the following tees with stroke differentials applied accordingly:
Blue Tees (6200-6300 yards): Men ages 49 & below
White Tees (5800-6100 yards): Men ages 50 & above
Green Tees (5400-5700 yards): Men ages 65 & above
Red Tees (5100-5300 yards): Ladies - all ages
*Adult ladies will be play approximately 85% of the distances listed above, within the gross portion of the championships only. Ladies must compete from the Red Tees in the Net Amateur Championship.

June 1: First Round of The Peninsula Championships – Tee-Times begin at 7:00 a.m. off Hole 1
June 2: Final Round of The Peninsula Championships – Tee-Times begin at 7:00 a.m. off Hole 1
PAIRINGS
Adult competitors will be permitted to make tee-time and pairing requests. The committee will do its best to accommodate those requests, within reason, for the first round only. Pairings for the final round will be determined by gross score within each division.
PRIZES
Golf Shop Merchandise Credit will be awarded to all competitors finishing in the top 30% of their division.
ENTRY
The entry fee to compete is $200.00 per competitor and is due when registration is submitted. Kiln Creek Member/Pass Holder Entry Fee is $150.00 per competitor. If you register online, you will be contacted to provide payment for your entry fee. Entry into the event is not final until payment is received. All entry fees include the practice round (Friday, May 31 ONLY), two tournament rounds, unlimited practice balls June 1-2, and event gift. Competitors are entitled to play one complimentary practice round on Friday, May 31. Competitors may choose to play a practice round at anytime after paid registration for a fee of $40.00 plus tax. The event is limited to the first 100 competitors to register. The committee reserves the right to adjust the field size to accommodate more than 100 competitors.
PAYMENT
Payment must accompany all event registrations in the form of check or credit card. For those utilizing online registration, you will be contacted to provide credit card payment once registration is received. DEADLINE
Registration and payment must be received no later than 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The field size is limited and any additional entries over the limit will be added to a wait list and notified of their acceptance. Entry fee refunds will be permitted prior to May 29, 2024, only.
