2020 MIXED "CHA CHA CHA" TOURNAMENT

Rules for Mixed 4-Player “CHA CHA CHA” Shamble

ELIGIBILITY.  Each player must have a USGA established handicap index and be a member of the WWGA or the WMGA for the 2020 season.

Registration.  Registration is $10 and will be charged to your account.

FORMAT.  This is a mixed four-person modified team SHAMBLE. Each player hits a tee shot. The team then selects the best tee shot and from the selected location, all players will play their individual ball until they hole out.

SCORING.  The scoring will be ONE best ball on the 1st hole (CHA), TWO best balls on the 2nd hole (CHA CHA), THREE best balls on the 3rd hole (CHA CHA CHA). Keep the same rotation throughout, i.e., one best ball on the 4th hole, two best on the 5th hole, three best on the 6th hole, and so on. For each player, enter gross and net scores on card. Scores for this tournament will not be entered into the handicap system.

If a team has 3 Players a blind will be selected based on whether the missing player is an A, B, C or D. For example if the missing player is a C player, the blind will be randomly selected from the participating C-players in the tournament.

TEAMS.  The  Tournament computer will select the A, B, C and D players based on the established handicaps.

TEES.  Women – GOLD; Men – WHITE or GREEN; Men may play from the Green tees if noted on sign-up sheet.

HANDICAP.  Handicaps are first limited to a maximum 38 for men and 43 for women. Then 90% of 18-hole course handicap is applied for men; 95% of 18-hole course handicap is applied for women. Men may play from the Green Tees, if indicated on the sign-up sheet. In according to USGA rules, handicaps will be adjusted by the Woods Pro.

PRIZES.  The winners will receive their prizes in their Woods accounts. Amounts will be determined based on participation. There will be an optional $5 for closest to the pin on all  par 3 holes (3, 9, 11, and 13) - only first ball hit counts, and an optional $5 for a 50/50 drawing.

TIE BREAK. If there is a tie, the lowest net score on the back 9 will determine the winners. If still a tie, the lowest net score on the last 6 holes will be used, then the last 3 holes, then the 18th hole, then each previous hole until the tie is broken.

DROP AREAS. Drop areas may not be used in this format.

THESE SCORES WILL NOT BE ENTERED FOR HANDICAP.

USGA AND WOODS GOLF CLUB LOCAL RULES APPLY.

All participants sign up individually, as the tournament computer will pick the teams. Men, please indicate which tee you wish to play from by typing (W) after your name if you wish to play from the White tees, or (G) after your name if you wish to play from the Green Tees.
