Dear WGA Member,

You are cordially invited to participate in the 2018 WGA Championship. This will be a 2 day Flighted Event, with low gross and low net prizes.  First round Tee times will begin at 7:33 am on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, second round tee times will begin with a 7:33 am Modified Shotgun Start on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Rain Date will be Monday, August 13th. Players will be repaired according to first round scores for the second round. Eligibility requirements and tournament information is listed below.

CHAMPIONSHIP  RULES

ELIGIBILITY:  WGA league members who have played 50% of the possible leagues days prior to the Championship or 10 league rounds from the previous year.  Exceptions may be made at the Championship Committee’s discretion.

ENTRY FORMS : Available on-line and at the pro shop counter, Entry deadline is August 1, at 5:00 PM.  No entries will be allowed after the deadline unless space is available.

RAIN DATE :  Monday, August 13th.

HANDICAPS:  Handicaps as of the last revision date prior to the reservation deadline will be used to determine flights.  A player whose handicap changes during the Championship shall compete using the new (current) handicap while remaining in the Flight in which she started.

18 hole handicap index of 40.4 and higher will be adjusted to the corresponding course handicap, 9 hole Flight handicaps will be based on the current league handicap and  will not be adjusted. 

PRIZES : Low Gross across the field will be the Champion and receive a medallion/charm and low net across the field will have her name engraved on the Decanter.  The number of flights and prizes will be determined by the size of the field. Approximately 30 percent of players in each flight will win a prize.

CANCELLATION: If a player must cancel out of the tournament, the Championship Coordinator must be advised by email or telephone.  The Chairman should acknowledge the cancellation.  A registration fee may be deducted from entry fee.  If the field cannot complete 36 holes of play, the tournament will be canceled.

TIES : In case of a tie for the Low Gross there will be a sudden death playoff starting on Hole#1.  If there is a tie for Low Net (Decanter) both names shall be engraved on the Decanter. All other ties shall remain and share the prize money.  A tie can be an acceptable result.  Appendix 1-10
