NFDL Optimist Club 1st Annual Golf Outing FAQ’s

When and where is Event?
Friday, June 18th at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in FDL, WI. Registration starts at 10:30am until 11:45. Golf starts at
noon-shotgun style.
How much is the event and what does this include?
$80 entry fee per golfer, ($320/foursome) includes 18 holes of golf, scramble style event, includes a golf cart during play
and includes a sit- down meal after golf is complete. Approx. 5pm dinner will be served (depending on pace of play)
Do I have to be an Optimist Member to golf?
No, our golf outing is open to the general public. We are encouraging our NFDL Optimist Club members who want to
golf to put together a foursome of friends or family to join our event.
Why is NFDL Optimist Club holding a golf outing event?
Our NFDL Optimist Club biggest fundraising event “Pancake Day” was cancelled in November of 2020 and still in
question for November 2021 due to social distancing restrictions from COVID19. Our Club is looking to replace that
fundraising event with this golf outing. Our golf outing is an outdoor event so this golf outing event removes the
complications of indoor social distancing and any indoor facility occupancy restrictions set due to COVID19 pandemic.
Where can I get Registration forms?
Easy online registration and payment can be made at: www.rollingmeadowsgolfcourse.com/events/nfdloptimist
Registration forms can also be printed off on our North Fond du Lac Optimist Facebook page, our NFDL Optimist Club
website: www.NFDLOptimist.com or picked up at Create Salon or Marghael’s in NFDL. Registration forms can also be
requested by emailing NFDLOPT@gmail.com.
Where do I turn in completed registration forms?
Directions for submitting completed Registration forms/payment is listed on the registration form. Registration forms
can be mailed to NFDL Optimist Club P.O Box 45, FDL, WI 54936. Please make checks payable to NFDL Optimist Club.
What happens if it rains the day of event?
Rolling Meadows will issue vouchers to participants who choose not to golf on event day that can be used at a later
date. Dinner will still be served at approx. 5pm outside in the social gathering tent.
I don’t have a foursome to golf, can I register as a single golfer or as a pair?
While we prefer a foursome at the time of registration, we will have a “waiting” list of participants for those who sign up
as a single golfer or pair and do our best to put you together with other “single/pairs” participants to make up a
foursome. Email communication will be sent once your registration is received and once again once your foursome is
established.
What other features will be available at the golf outing event?
Our NFDL Optimist Club will be selling raffle tickets for prizes located inside social gathering tent area. Summit
Automotive is sponsoring a “Hole in One” contest where participants have a chance to win a vehicle on a Par 3 hole.
Other hole contests such as longest putt, straightest drive, closest to pin, “within 10 feet circle” and a “double your $”
betting putting green will also be available.
What if I want to support NFDL Optimist Club but I dont golf?
On our registration form, there are options such as attending the dinner only portion of event for $25, we suggest
arriving well before 5pm to enjoy some community building and fellowship. Also, on the registration form there are
options of supporting our event by sponsoring a Golf hole on course ($100) and/or donating a raffle/prize item. We’d
appreciate any support you’d be willing to give.
What does the NFDL Optimist Club do and how does this golf outing help your club?
Our NFDL Optimist Club mostly supports the youth of the Village of NFDL. Some of the organizations NFDL Optimist club
helps support are: Back Pack Buddies, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Back to School, Robotics Club, Spillman Library, Easter Egg
Hunt, DARE, awarding multiple scholarships, Post Prom, NFDL Wrestling, Trap, Softball teams an NFDL Touchdown Club.
Our biggest fundraising event each year is our family friendly Annual Pancake Day event which was cancelled in
November of 2020 and still in question for 2021. Our NFDL Optimist Club is looking to acquire some fundraising in leu of
lost revenue from our cancelled Pancake Day event. With you golfing in our event your support helps us bring us
revenue for our upcoming years expenses. The more revenue we acquire, the more support we can provide in the
upcoming year to the organizations such as those listed above.
How can I support NFDL Optimist Club Golf outing event if I already know I cannot make event date?
We’d appreciate your support by becoming a Hole sponsor ($100) and/or donating a raffle/prize item used at our event.
This option can be found on our registration form.
I already support the NFDL Optimist Club by donating a raffle prize towards Pancake day, do I have to choose either
event?
Our NFDL Optimist Club appreciates your past support of our Pancake Day event, we recommend for you to continue
supporting our Pancake Day events in the future. Uncertain when Pancake Day event will resume, if you choose to also
to support this golf outing event, we’d appreciate your support. Our club doesn’t want to exclude any organization or
donation due to the fact an organization already donates towards our Pancake Day event. We wanted to give everyone
the opportunity to support our NFDL Optimist Club Golf Outing even if they already supported our Pancake Day event in
the past.
What precautions are being taken relating to Covid 19?
Our Golf outing is an outdoor event, you will not be required to wear a mask during the event other than when you are
inside the Rolling Meadows Pro-shop or facility. You will not be required to enter into an indoor facility unless you
choose. Hand sanitizer will be provided in/near the golf outing tent. Participants may choose to wear a mask if they feel
more comfortable.
